PHOTO WITH CAPTION: GaRRS “Out & About” Host Tours Turner Field

(Pictured from left are Ms. Jody Franco, volunteer with the Georgia Radio Reading Service-GaRRS, and Dave Barrett, tour guide for Turner Field. Jody Franco is a volunteer reader with the Georgia Radio Reading Service (GaRRS), the state’s only radio reading service for Georgians who are blind, visually impaired or face other difficulties accessing the printed word. In addition, Franco also hosts a new ‘audio tour” radio show at GaRRS called “Out and About” in which she voice describes places of interest while conducting interviews with staff, patrons, and others connected to the location. On May 19, 2010, Franco “toured” Turner Field for GaRRS’ listeners. Her show airs on the first Tuesday of every month at 9:00 p.m. and provides GaRRS’ visually impaired listeners an opportunity to meet interesting people and experience interesting places around the State of Georgia. For more information on this show or to become a GaRRS listener, contact GaRRS at 1-800-672-6173.
